To fix a problem

I have a confession to make: I am a lover of big, gaudy earrings - particularly since I cut my hair short! The difficulty, though, is this: my ears are sensitive to metals that aren't either solid silver or gold, which poses a problem for wearing my extensive collection of cheap vintage earrings.

So! I have decided to do something about it this autumn, and have purchased a large quantity of plastic earring posts to experiment with. I'm going to be trying to attach them to my vintage earrings in place of their horrible, hot, itchy-making cheap metal posts - not sure how this will work out. I've also got a much smaller quantity of gold-plated blank posts for the more special earrings. I don't know about you but I sometimes find that gold-plated earrings simply oxidize away surprisingly quickly or something - anyhow I often end up reacting to them a bit, so it's not a perfect solution.

I'll also try making some of my own - and if successful, put them in the shop. There must be more people out there who want big, gaudy, non-allergenic earrings!
