The Dome

Apparently, the Devonshire Dome in Buxton is the largest unsupported dome in Europe, bigger even than St Paul's Cathedral and the Pantheon. Who knew?!

It was built in 1779 for the Duke of Devonshire as a very very grand stable, spent some time as a hospitable and is now part of the Buxton campus of the University of Derby.

That is such a good idea! Or a silk scarf! If only it was big enough and not a crappy instagram picture.
