Grandma's beads

This poor tangle of broken old beaded necklaces has been sitting in my mum's jewellery box, and now my little drawer, for years. They have a rather lovely tribal thing going on, and I've been wanting to fix them up somehow and wear some of them for ages. Fixing the whole thing would be a mammoth threading task, but I've got a few strings done and a little extra necklace so that I can wear Grandma's beads again.

Does anyone else sentimentally hoard old broken things like this? :)

Apologies if blogger has stolen your comment away and not given it back - it was very nice!

I am raising my hand! I totally hoard sentimntal bits of goodness...brooken or not :) I have an amazingly sweet mental heart necklace that my mom worn when she was in her 20's that I LOVE mainly because it was such a part of her :)

Love your "new" tribal looks!

I hoard pretty much everything so sentimental things definately get kept, but they also get saved when I have a sensible throw things away day.

That is one of the most precious necklaces ever that you've made there. Love their colours.

And yes, I hoard things. Just stumbled on my Mum's hippopotamus whimsies - the really old kind with the Disney-ish eyes.
