I bought these babies in a charity shop without trying them on, thinking that they might look shit-hot, or might be a total disaster, and prepared to take the gamble. Of course they turned out to be an unflattering mess, so I am now planning to turn them into several items, including some sort of body harness-chain thing, and maybe a big clutch bag... which I'm more excited about than wearing the shorts! So that's good.
