Gibson's Modern Method

Another find from a before-mentioned trip to Deptford Market, complete with much-used blotting paper. My spelling skills are on the up!

PS. between houses and everything packed up, so I can't tell you the adorable name and date written very carefully in the front of the book, but I will when I can fish it out of a box next week. New home pictures coming soon!

bottle bottle

This is Sarah's collection of earthenware bottles, which I photographed a few weekends ago in the yard which we are leaving today. It's a dreary drizzly morning, and moving house in the rain is never fun! Wish me luck...

Wet Tuesday

One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl and four for a boy...

Little magpie charms on my desk. A customer requested a magpie necklace, and I've lost their message! So I cannot tell them it's ready. If it's you, get in touch! What a silly I am.

Hug a porcupine

Lots of lovely things from hug a porcupine - I think the origami bear pin is especially good, he has a bit of an eeyore-esque moroseness about the face and posture. Lovely colours on offer, too. Find them here.

The Channings

A slice of the below-mentioned cake (which is here because it colour co-ordinates) and a find from a recent trip to Deptford Market. I just love the pattern on the endpapers of this poor old beat up book cover, so am hatching a plan to bind in a nice thick notebook and make it useful again. The only question is: patterned bit on the inside or outside?

summer saleio-o

I've put a few little items on sale, to try and encourage the shop to clear a little. All the above items are reduced. Happy Saturday to you all, dear readers. I think I'm going to go and make cakes...

I really must get out more...
What a funny old week!

lovely Sunday eats

Today Sarah made brioche and I made jam - a bit of damson, and a bit of blackberry and apple. We picked them in the garden of the house we will be moving to at the end of the month, where hopefully I can finally settle into somewhere!

The blackberries were huge and just so juicy. What with all the mental weather this summer everything is very early, fruit-wise. Freaky deaky but yummy. I think I gave you my favourite jam recipe once before, long ago in another kitchen!

Les petits oeufs and other adventures.

Aren't quails eggs pretty? Can't really bring myself to eat them though. I don't really like eggs, which is annoying if you're vegetarian, really limits your options out and about. This week I have been mostly drinking ginger beer and eating great big cheap tomatoes from the Turkish shop across the road.

oops...

An accident that happened while I was trying something out at work for a book cover, which I rather liked. I spent yesterday with my parents at the Cambridge Folk Festival, had a brilliant time. What did you all get up to?
