1 into 2

In the fine tradition detailed here, a recent project that I'm rather pleased with was to turn a very very long fine knit cardigan that I never wore into two useful pieces of clothing. Of course, the vintage doilie bits got involved as well.

The skirt I am particularly pleased with; it hangs very nicely and is quite flattering. I simply rolled and hand-stitched the raw top edge before threading elastic through and tying in a knot which I tucked into the tube. Hand-stitching seemed the way to go to avoid any trouble with stretching.

Oooh, look! New rope bracelets, in the shop now. Ropetastic? Yes. Sailorific? Maybe.

A getting-dressed wishlist

From here, and here.

Although, those shoes won't really keep much rain out. I'll have to wait until Wimbledon and Glastonbury are over so that the sun comes out again.

And out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain...

A lovely coffee with lovely Sarah in lovely Browns, whilst rain-dodging and thinking about actually getting stuff done... What does the weekend hold in store for you?

Is it really Monday already?

Goodness, the weekend went fast! I spent all week saying to myself 'don't worry, I'll tidy up and wash things at the weekend', but I spose they can wait til the next one now...

PS. Isn't bare feet on warm floorboards one of the most pleasing things in the world?

Saturday

Some scribbles that, once I've planned it properly, I'll try and do a sort of flick-book thingy with. Tiny notebook from Muji.

Marta Lugo

Beautiful FIBULOSO PETRA safety pin brooch by Marta Lugo. The necklaces are rather lovely, too.

Sunday

What a beautiful day yesterday! I just sat about reading Vanity Fair (which I am enjoying much more than when I tried it aged 12) and basking in the sun. Today is a little fresher, and the plants (read 'weeds'...) are loving it.

Liesl Pfeffer

Everytime I come across these beautiful collages by Liesl Pfeffer, they grab my eyes in a way I can't resist. The shapes, the colours, the textures, the mix of natural and geometric imagery are just delicious. From here.
