This little village

When I grow up I will go and live in a house that looks just like one of these Probably the paler turquoise one. Handpainted secret money places by Oldnewagain.

British Wild Animals

A rediscovery from my childhood bookshelf - this 1958 cutie features some quite interesting type treatments and amazing, rather lurid, illustrations (I prefer the cover and title page illustrations, which is why they feature more here!).

Unconnected side thought - I wonder how many of the animals in this book are now endangered or gone from Britain? I bet there's a few.

Just had to post these amazing pictures (I loved Up, had me balling my eyes out before the credits were over and then chuckling all the way through. So clever.) 10 out of 10, National Geographic!

Saturday colour

At long last the sun is out a bit, and I"m thinking of brightly coloured happy things, particularly yummy coloured leather. Enjoy your weekends!

'Made any new stuff, lately?' I hear you cry

Some new stuff in the shop (which I'm listing remotely, cos I'm in London again for the month, and good old Mum has taken over post office duties. Thanks Mum!). Wishing you all a happy Monday!

Play that funky music, Mr Edison!

Another great find from the weekend's charity and vintage shopping session: I don't know much about these cylindrical records (bakelite? Some other kind of plastic?) but I know that I love the packaging - amazing swirly type, that picture of Edison looking smugtastic and the hand-labelled contents: 'True Love Waltz'. Bring on the true love, Mr. Edison!
