The Great Clearing-out Giveaway

Ladies and Gentlefolk, it seems that I simply must have a bit less stuff to move between houses, and so I've decided to give away a few bits and pieces. It's a mix of experiments, old stock and hoarded crafty bits that's on offer!

Luck winner number 1 will receive the vintage bird silhouette glass, above, a screen printed bag (made from shirt fabric bought for my Dad in 1987 or something) and a lot of ribbon and odd crafty things that I can't bring myself to chuck (below).

Winner number two will receive: A tasselly canvas zip clutch, anchor brooch and 'happy camper' cardholder made from a recycled tent, below. Oh what riches! These aren't available in the shops, folks!
To enter, simply pop over to the shop and come back and tell me what is your favourite thing, as well as which prize you've got your eye on. Consumer research and a clearout all at once - how's that for efficiency, eh?

I'll pick a winner out of a hat on Wednesday night (UK time). To get your name in that hat twice, feel free to post or tweet about the giveaway and let me know! You will also get a big internet kiss xx

Another light dusting of snow today - it's so nice to sit by the fire and eat delicious things! The moving house is not going so smoothly, so I will drown (?) my sorrows in a massive roast dinner. How goes your Saturday?

Friday, 26 November 2010

Lovely lightly snowy morning, today! Unfortunately I found out yesterday that my favourite snow-proof boots have a hole in, so I will just have to buy new boots...

In the shop, there is a sale this weekend (starting now) in honour of our American friends and their habits ;)

'Oh, look, I'd forgotten all about this'

This handsome fella was bought for me by a friend a couple of years ago. I came upon while clearing out and packing up my stuff - it's amazing what's been turning up! It's a brooch as well as a finger puppet - I'm afraid I can't remember the name of the illustrator. I know she would have gone to Goldsmiths college, sometime in the past 3 years... gosh, this is turning into a detective story! If anyone can solve the mystery let me know.

The silhouettes are evolving! These new shapes of settings (the two on the left) are available now in the shop. I am of course mentally thinking of them as 'daddy, mummy and baby'...

Remember this fellow? He's had a good coat of black enamel spray paint, some gold and some varnish, and is generally a spruced up handsome new brooch. Pretty seasonal too - we've been standing outside all day at a craft fair and brrrrrrrrr! Toes have just about returned to life. Wouldn't have this problem if I had hooves....

I've been blown away by this collection, entitled 'Lola's circus', by Holly Giselle Hilden, a fashion knitwear graduate of Bath Spa. I love the colours, I love the pom poms, I love the warm wool textures, the harlequin pattern and pierrot-y references.... amazing. She's the person behind Lola's Vintage Wardrobe, too. Busy lady!

I want that top jumper more than I want a big cake.
Via all the mountains.

Clearing out the flat for moving has unearthed all sorts of hidden things, including this piece of glass with a bird silhouette, taken from some old frame at some point. I rather like it! No, must get rid of some crap... But it might come in useful...

The tulips have that Monday feeling...

I'm moving in with Charlie (remember him?), a photographer friend who took these beautiful and rather poignant images. The plan is to have a studio in the house that we can share, and I'm really looking forward to not eating, sitting and always stepping on jewellery stuff!

It's all change at Super Duper Towers: the boy is off travelling for a few months to find himself, etc, so me and mine are moving house. These are a few shots of one of the houses we've looked at this week - a little on the eccentric side for us (yes- that's a toilet in a box room). Pretty, though, in a funny retro-decor kind of way.

(ps. please excuse crappy phone pics)

Close your eyes, lest you be dazzled by my enormous sparkly ring! This was meant to be going in the shop, but I am just too reluctant to let it go... The big sparkly thing has been hanging around my worktable for nearly a year while I worked out how to fix it to anything. It turns out that the answer was a LOT of epoxy resin.

La Casita's beautiful clouds. Perfect for dreamy snoozes! She's just put more in the shop, and I know for a fact that they go quick...

Further to yesterday's post...

Flora, new necklace, available here

Thank you for your kind attention.

Mary Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? With tiny plastic flowers, that's how. I may not have a real garden but these'll do for now... New flower necklaces coming soon!

Well lookie here, my stag silhouette embroidery hoop is in Marie Claire's gift guide this issue! How very exciting. Thanks, team All Things Original.
Happy fireworks night to you all, I'm off to a friend's house to eat chilli and toast marshmallows on the terrace while watching everyone else's fireworks. Now if only it would stop raining... at least I have all these chocolate apples to keep my mind off it.

Happy weekend to you all! x

Nice Things In The Post: part 2

This beautiful thing was made by Moorea, and we did a swap in exchange for some pictures I took and one of my 'circle triangle' necklaces. It's freaky deaky how similar our tastes are! Anyhoo, thanks Moorea, it's beautiful, I've already got loads of compliments and ps. your blog is lovely. Hurray for nice friends and pretty rocks! Anyone else been lucky with the post lately?

Who's a pretty kitty, then?

Look who dropped through the post box the other day! This handsome fella was made by Mariet of 'kittens with mittens' (oh yes!) and came to me via a giveaway at Angie's (Angie has the best giveaways). I can't believe the workmanship that went into this, he's so well made! Look at his little handstitched face! Amazing.

Thanks Mariet, nice packages are the best.

All these new thingies and more are now in the shop. Happy Monday to you all!
